This is a nice informative read on the beautiful pearl of the Indian sea. It touches on most customs and gives a good idea of what to expect and how to react. Said this, the volume has many redundancies, which has the advantage of making the reader familiar with the concepts, but all in all these redundancies are simply too many.
This compilations of rumors about the country, created by largely uninformed travelers, and inept editors, I found useless for a real understanding of the country. The Wikipedia page was far more illuminating.
In few months I will be making my first trip to Sri Lanka and I believe this book will serve me well.
