This book is absolutely awesome. I read the entire narrative before the recipes and was entranced with how she explained one should eat nutritiously for gorgeous skin. The author describes what foods are good and the basics about diet, vitamins, etc. This is definitely my type of book. Although, I am not into making and using natural skin care recipes, I do love her food recipes. Also, the advice she gives is really for overall good health and not only related to achieving great skin.I made the "sweet pepper mini fritatatas" and they came out great. Both my boyfriend and I loved them. Of course, I almost doubled the recipe because I added a yellow and Poblano pepper for more color in addition to the green and red peppers in the recipe. I do recommend greasing a non-stick muffin tin or mini oval pans because I used both a muffin pan and some oval pans (as you can see in the pictures). The oval tins were non-stick but the muffin tin was not. Even though I lightly greased both with coconut oil, the eggs still stuck on the muffin tin. Therefore, when making this recipe, use non-stick only.The first picture shows the end result. Please note that I added the fresh fruit; that was not part of the recipe.Overall, if one is into healthful eating with fresh and natural ingredients, then this book is sure to please. Although, I will probably never use the skincare recipes (because I love store bought products that are probably no good for my skin), this book is still packed with enough information to be useful. Her writing style is so engaging that it makes the reader want to dig into the content immediately!
I found out about Nadia when I googled "flawless skin", in a desperate try to get my acne better. Her blog is great (you should visit it, btw: body unburdened), and I got addicted to all the posts.The food and skin products recipes in her blog are absolutely amazing, and I started learning a little bit how the digestion has a big role in our skin, and that he glow comes from within.I bought the book to get a little deeper on this subject, and she's so gracious with the explanation, and it's so easy to understand, that I couldn't say enough good things about it.The skin DIY products and the recipes (the avocado pot de creme is my favorite) are a plus, because I saw this book mainly as an explanation why your skin is overreacting on you.I changed my diet COMPLETELY, and just because I realized it needed it from me.Today I'm on a sugar detox, very clean diet, and feeling great.Definitely, read it!
In a word I would describe Nadia's book as refreshing. Her writing style draws you in and allows you to effortlessly learn the fundamentals of the relationship between what you eat and your health. The book itself is beautiful. The photography along with all the simple, yet unique, recipes makes you look at what you put in your body in a truly different way. I loved every DIY I have tried so far!!! One of my favorites is her "Hello Sunshine" juice! It is perfect for any and every occasion or no occasion at all :) The coconut energy bites are a perfect go to snack. I am in love with the Ultra Moisturizing Lotion. It feels amazing on your skin after a day in the sun- like it’s getting a much needed glass of water! This book is so well done- I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to feel better inside and out. Kudos to Nadia for coming up with brilliant ways to GLOW!
I liked the simplicity of this book. As someone that is just now making the change to healthy eating, it wasn't overwhelming. I walked away with practical steps to help me begin my journey. With a few modifications to the recipes, I am really enjoying them and I am beginning to feel the benefits already and it hasn't even been a week. I especially appreciate the simple meals that are a snap to create and the beautiful photography. I am excited about making some of my own skincare products as well so I can stop feeling guilty about all of those products full of chemicals that I slather on my body everyday! This is a gem of a little book and recommend it as a gentle introduction to those seeking a healthier, cleaner lifestyle.
Amazing book!! If you have leaky gut & inflammation and are suffering from acne that just won't seem to go away, this is the book for you. Honestly. I'm so happy to have made the switch to a healthier, more empowering, and FUN skincare routine that is FULL CIRCLE. I'm no longer battling, suppressing, and denying what my body is trying to tell me with harsh, costly chemicals. This book has helped me learn to listen to my body and give it what it needs--the right foods, oils, and DIY attitude. This is a great book, filled with fabulous information! Nadia teaches the information in a fun way and breaks down the facts so you really get it!! The recipes are so fresh and yummy and I love the skincare recipes. Really a great and informative book! If you want to detox and improve your skin (and your health in general! You should absolutely get this book!!
This book is awesome! When I was pregnant with my daughter, I wanted to start using more natural product on my skin. I came across Nadia's website during my search for diy beauty recipes. I have been using some of her recipes and have been reading her blog ever since. When I found out she had published a book, I had to get it. The book is great. Lots of great recipes, can't wait to try them all.
