As a book is got character and power, I lived during that teenaged era. This play misses the depth and the force of the characters. It takes the superficial stations but misses the heart of them. It seems to be going for a teen age drama, as if teenagers don't have depth. Its a miss for me.
Good play for Junior High and High School kids. Many will recognize it from the book and or the movie. Script arrived in good condition and on time.

As a middle school teacher, I am excited to incorporate this adaptation into our Outsiders unit. The kids will enjoy taking ownership if the characters!
I buy most of my children's English books here on Amazon. I bought the wrong one this time. He needed the novel and not the play adaptation. So, beware if you are looking for the novel. (I wish teachers would be more specific and give us the ISBN #) He was able to to start his annotation for class as he waited for the correct book to come in.

Most 7th Grade students read 'The Outsiders' as part of the curriculum, this dramatic adaption is a fun way to cover the same material and concepts.I especially appreciated the clear directions, using simple classroom props. It was easy for my class to produce and direct the play themselves.
