Maria Nhambu was born in Tanzania, East Africa, and raised in an orphanage for biracial children. Her passion for African dance, art, and culture inspired her to create the popular workout Aerobics With Soul®, and teach African Studies in America. She has made sharing her love of Africa and its culture and rhythms the focus of her life. In that role she gives African dance presentations and speaks about Africa to groups across the U.S. and around the world.
