I purchased this as an electronic kindle download and did not like it. The content was good, but had a hard time trying to match everything up. I am confident the actual printed version is better than the electronic version.
This is a very nice laminated guide- perfect for your tote bag or alongside your work area. It folds out and has a lot of information packed into it! It's nice to quickly reference a forgotten stitch without rooting through a larger book. Each foldout section covers a different type of stitch- with illustrations. Some of the stitches covered are blanket, weaving, feather stitches, satin, running (and more). There is also a short section on floss types and a handy 8" ruler on one edge. Pretty sweet!
I am new to embroidery and want to enjoy this new craft wherever I might find a moment of leisure. Therefore, I was seeking an easily portable quick refernce guide to toss into my Toy Bag since I can't tote around my larger reference books. This guide arrived from the seller a day earlier than predicted. ((Yah!) It is heavily laminated so it should stand up to lots of wear and tear; the graphcially depicted references are easily understood, and there is a very handy ruler-guide along the edge. This would be a great addition for anyone's Toy Bag --- and a thoughtful part of a gift package from "an elder" to "a younger" to start the recipient down the path of a craft that can yield years of Zen-like peaceful and creative hours.
This handy guide folds flat and takes up no space. It's perfect for throwing into a bag with a small project to hit the road. I don't embroider all the time so a quick reference of stitches provides the perfect quick refresher and keeps my project moving.
It's not the content that I am dissatisfied with, it is the publication form. I ordered it as a Kindle and wish I had ordered a hard copy. The Kindle version is difficult to read and the pictures are far too small. I can not enlarge the pictures, and since I bought this to learn some basic stitches I need to see the instructions clearly. This was a useless product.
I keep this in my travel kit. It is perfect for reference offering the most popular and beautify stitches. It clearly shows each stitch in an easy to follow set of diagrams. Handy for when it's been too long since I've sewn.
I learned to embroidery when I was very young and have embroidered occasionally over the years. I thought this guide would be helpful to learn a few different stitches. I was pleased with this purchase since it shows several stitches I didn't know how to do and it's very simple to understand with the illustrations.
i'm a newbie an this is so easy to follow. I'm greatful. I've tried learning to knit for the better part of my life to no avail but seem to be decent at needlepoint and this guide gives me the confidence to try new stitches.
For a novice like me its perfect! I have it open and am practicing nearly everyday. Its ideal for beginners or maybe a refresher course for experts. Either way its very helpful would most definetly reccommend to anyone but be prepared... Embroidery has many many different stitches.
