There is a reason why Paris designers set the style for most of the world. Jean-Louis Deniot is one of them; If there can be an haute couture master of interiors he would be Balenciaga. I have followed his career ever since I saw his rooms for Artcurial. His masterful rooms for this exposition are like nothing I have ever seen. His mixing of architecture, textures, and style is truly amazing, he can mix the old(antiques, vintage finds, mid-century masterpieces) with the new(cutting edge contemporary design, fabrics, art) and compose a comfortable, elegant room without being cold, pretentious, or stuffy. Each of the projects in this book is bespoke to the owner so none look like any of the others. The pictures and design are top quality and you won’t be disappointed.
This book of interiors is not just meant to decorate your coffee table...it serves as an inspiration to all of us of how interiors should be, from the largest and grand spaces to rooms that are truly intimate. The details are glorious and unique. I have studied these images and read it cover to cover several times. As a matter of fact I have given copies of it to dear friends and when we are out shopping and we spot something truly unique we all posit, 'Deniot?'. May it inspire you to rearrange your rooms or simply paint your walls a glorious greige color that will transport you to the Isle Saint Louis.
Jean-Louis Deniot has become my new, favorite interior designer. Yes, any one of his rooms cost more than my annual salary, but they are beautiful to look at. He's daring, yet traditional, and a genius with mixing styles, textures and finishes. Every room he designs feels oddly glamorous and grounded at the same time. The man is a genius.As a budding interior designer trying to reinvent myself at 62 years old, he has become my inspiration. What I would do to spend a day in his head! Monsieur Deniot is truly gifted. You'll love this book.
This is a really lovely book. I purchased this as a gift for a sibling (who is an interior designer). She is a fan of Jean-Louis Deniot and she loved it. It was a great addition to her collection. The content and photos are amazing. The designs in this book are displayed elegantly. It also looks great as coffee table decor.
I had the pleasure working alongside Jean-Louis a couple years ago. This book is an amazing collection of his fabulous work. He is a superb designer with meticulous attention to detail which reflects in everyone of his projects. In addition he and his staff are such wonderful people to work with. As a designer myself, I constantly admire his mix of modern and antiques.
